'Black Pheasant Barn was recognised as an excellent example of what can be achieved while maintaining the fabric of a disused agricultural building. The resultant dwelling provided excellent accommodation with high standards of energy efficiency being achieved, despite the challenges of retaining the original structure.'
2023 LABC Grand Finals
Architecture ONE attended the Grand Finals for the LABC awards at Grosvenor House Hotel in London in January 2024. Winning the category for Best Residential Conversion to a Single New Home nationally for Black Pheasant Barn in Groton.
Our Project Director, Jonathon, is pictured on stage with the winning property owners, Mr & Mrs Mackay-Morris, and Babergh & Mid Suffolk District Council Building Control officers Mark Polley & Sarah Fanning along with the event presenters. It was a great event celebrating with industry colleagues and being inspired by the outstanding quality and innovation of our industry leaders.
We were blown away by our win and proud to be a part of this project.

Architecture ONE, along with our client and property owner, Mr. MacKay-Morris, had a wonderful time at the 2023 LABC Awards Ceremony, which took place at Suffolk Food Hall in Ipswich in November 2023. Architecture ONE was awarded the prestigious prize for "Best Residential Conversion to a Single New Home," for their work in converting an agricultural barn into a family home. This conversion was successfully completed using the Class Q planning process. Congratulations to all the finalists and winners of this year's awards.
